How to Prepare for MDS Exam?

Mds exam consists of:

  1. Written MCQs Exam containing 125 MCQs

Written Exam: 

Written Exam has 125 mcqs having 2 marks for each mcqs.

How many Marks are necessary to clear MDS?

Candidate needs to secure at least 50 percent marks to clear jcat exam.

MCQs Distributions for MDS: 

In written exam 55 MCQs come from following Basic Subjects:

  • Anatomy
  • Phsiology 
  • Biochemistry
  • Pharmacology
  • Pathology
  • Oral Biology,
  • Dental Materials

70 MCQs come from following Clinical Subjects:

  • Periodontology
  • Operative Dentistry
  • Oral Surgery
  • Orthodontics
  • Prosthodontics

Which Books should be used to clear MDS Exam?

For Basic Subjects following Books should be used:

  • Coffeedent course for MDS Exam which contains MCQs from Basic and Clinical Subjects
  • NBDE First Aid 
  • Dentogist also for dental portion

For clinical Subjects following Books should be used: 

  • Coffeedent Clinical Subjects MCQs
  • Dentogist Clinical
  • NBDE Part 2

But as time is short you should do only complete final notes for clinical subjects. Many questions from clinical subjects can be solved with previous knowledge.

As for Basic subjects there is no time for theory so do Coffeedent (Coffeedent is better choice as it contains more questions)  of Dentistry are enough.

Note:

Every MCQ should be solved with details.

Last Tip: 

Fcps people should concentrate on their part 1 because MDS Exam can be cleared with FCPS Part 1 exam Preparation and Previous clinical knowledge.
